Smash, issue 6.5

This show has everything that makes a show a show that has everything: Fame, Footloose, Cop Rock, The Color Of Money, Head Of The Class, All That Jazz, break dance fighting, Will & Grace, bold italics, unambiguous sexual innuenda, and bowling.

And William Devane as Dr. Juan Suarez. Can't look away.

so the episode of the office on fox tonight is the michael and jan dinner party episode. almost as uncomfortable as the amy ryan episode. yikes. also, forgot a little Staying Alive.

"you can buy new stuff. you can't buy a new party."

"i think jan and michael are playing their own game. it's called 'how can we make our guests really uncomfortable'. they're both winning."

emergency room bill... closing costs... plumbing... taxes... dead raccoon... stitches still in... and plumbing can'o'worms... one of those days.

not every day can be peaches and cream. i decided getting rid of the b'ham house was becoming spiritually emphatic, but it's still hard to write the check to greedy misers. and anything about jake burton at all makes me smile.

also, my problems are mine. i'm not blaming anyone for the poor decisions i've made and will make. it just sucks some days. but i've become kind of attached to "fashion star". i've always liked nicole.

No question they are yours bud. Just remember you get to own the good moments too -- don't let anyone else take credit for them. Fashion star -- anything about clothing that can be bought at Macys is less about fashion then about "attractive department store clothing" -- which is not a bad thing, but bottom line is that it's not fashion as an artistic endeavor. Nicole's okay. Not a train wreck like her increasingly invisible former partner in crime.

And wrt Smash, god that was awful. Why will these writers not give these good actors real believable character arcs? Sheesh. I love my family. I sex you but only stop when my son calls me on it so I fire you and you are happy. Uh huh. Wish they'd stick to the music. I likey.

headed into town to put the ham behind me, trying desperately to resist the urge to put "go fuck yourself" in the cashier's check memo line. bad karma. dad wouldn't have. but he would've thought it as well.

plus, the fountain effect my plumbing has created is really growing on me!

I'VE GOT TODAY. that's all that matters right now. and the dog.

Narrowing your obligation set is a good thing. Congrats. Freedom comes in inches.

fantastic. the buyer's bank needed more paperwork, so the closing gets delayed. i suspect that's what i get for trying to play by the rules. but self-pity is so 10 and 1/2 months ago.
