Moon River

Sadly, Andy Williams shouldn't be remembered for this perfect song. The definitive version is the original Henry Mancini arrangement for the fun for the whole family romp, Breakfast At Moon River.

The best version is by a trio consisting of bassist Larry Grenadier, drummer Jorge Rossi, and some doofus on piano, live at The Village Vanguard. To make it even cooler, they play it in the alternating keys of F and D throughout, with a sublime solo piano exploration at the end, which the doofus does at the end of most ballads.

Some of Johnny Mercer's most profound lyrics. The song itself nearly personifies melancholy and hope. At the same time.

Makes me sad just listening to it in my head.

ill give your recommendation a try, but I'm really, oddly, fond of Andy Williams. He's inextricably intertwined with Christmas in my mind. All those years of specials I guess and that lovely voice with all that control. Plus, married to Claudine Longet! So odd.

Stay busy my friend. Forecast is for a snowy winter. How's Moon?

When it comes to Andy Williams, the first thing I ever think of is this. Gets to the heart of the most unlikely people.

68 weeks today. Pride but humility, big deal no big deal.

But the real news is that the more I watch Battlestar, the more I think I may be a Cylon sleeper agent. But so far the only person who suspects anything is Moonpie dog. And the lady at the Dairy Queen. So, one less thing to worry about.

Once you get to 69, everything goes topsy turvy. Cricket chirp. Congrats. A day at a time dude. Green Bay/NO game is awesome. Didn't they bring pro refs back? Shessh.

Great game. 3 killed.

3 killed is a big payday -- oh, sorry, that was the OLD saints.

I'm trying to watch Revenge and Eagles/Giants at the same time. On Revenge everyone is drinking too much. But on Eagles/Giants everyone is drinking too much.

FLY EAGLES FLY. Sorry, I lost it. Giants are always a big game. Not as big as Dallas, which is the most hated team by far. Not as much drinking anymore since they put a courtroom in the stadium to bring charges immediately.

I wonder if the Eagles' secondary is not drinking enough too much.

And the belated answer to your question is yes. But Andy Reid should drink more for a Mormon. Iciing a kicker on a 54 yard attempt? Really?

Icing bullet dodged. Also, a recant. Partners isn't terrible. Jim Brooks may be responsible. Note to self: fight through blues; they'll dissipate. AND THERE'S ALWAYS BATTLESTAR!!! That was a great game.
