If you read his auto, you'd know he's not trying to impress anyone. That's who he is. Always been a lot tougher and more pragmatic than anyone gives him credit for, so instead they claim he sells out the principles they imagined him in their projections to have; or he embodies the principles they imagined him to have. Man has always been a shitload more complex than that.
In all seriousness, I am sure he's a fine hard-headed manager, but like many such, he's very much a company man. And greasin' bad guys and lubin' up the web of favored industries* is pretty much what USACorp does.
*One of which I work for, don't get me wrong, at least for another month and a half. Is your new job also in finance, rundeep? I always saw you in the thankless role of official legal conscience.
Yep, Keif I am still in finance in official conscience department. But now in a much larger place with a much better developed conscience of its own. So here I don't need to instill ethics as much as educate and enforce rules. Very busy but much more satisfying.
