So happy to see you again, swits.

You're still the Greatest.

Michigan drivers are worse.

Sorry, giving my vote for worst drivers to the morons who drive in North Carolina.

switters - please tell me that you are working on a piece regarding Nancy Grace?

rundeep said...

God is willing. Sounds like you are too.

Sober's good. Different instead of better at times, but always good.

New favorite word: Schadenfreudegasm! (h/t/ Jon Stewart) OMG I cannot get enough of the headlines that say things like:

FBI Investigating Murdoch

and

News Corp. Stocks Slide

and

End of Rupert Murdoch Era?

Oh the glee! Oh the joy! Oh the sweet glow of truth may one day shine again!

let me know if that works.

Call backs tonight!

Iso, lovely pics. Something about mountain photos though, always makes me feel like I can't breathe.

I will be playing both the delightfully nasty Mrs. Reed and the morally compromised Grace Poole. Should be fun. Haven't heard yet if brightling got a speaking role; she was reading for Adele but would be happy being one of the school girls.

bright said...

Are you still at Al and Lisa's?

rundeep said...

bright, Grace Poole? Awesome. JE was the first novel I ever read. And I reread it every year for at least 10 years. Awesome.

And yes, switters, where the hell are you?

Jello. When I was a kid I liked sucking it through the gaps where my teeth had come out. Hey, watch out for the sugar free crap. It has aspertame a lot of the time. Fuzzes up my thinking pretty good. I actually read labels these days. They put that shit & high fructose corn syrup in a lot of food. Sheesh. Old fashioned sugar works fine for me.

How many tomato plants this year, switters?

odaat.

Movies I Have Seen Recently:

1. Cave of Forgotten Dreams. Two thumbs up. Amazing, especially the last 20 minutes with no talking, only the play of light and shadow on the 32,000 year old paintings.

2. Buck. Also two thumbs up. Interesting portrayal of a decent human being. And horses.

Hey, I got a new job! Accepted my offer today. A full-time gig, super-respectable company, downtown so I can go out for lunch again with my friends. And sit in Rittenhouse Square with my fruit salad in the summer and listen to the kids at Curtis practice through their open windows. Heaven.

topazz said...

Any super respectable company is damn lucky to get you, Maria. Ahem. Now that you have a job can you get my nephew who just graduated from Widener Law School a job?

rundeep said...

No. 1) Horrible legal market. This is why I told Chango not to go (though he is a very special case indeed, and will probably have no problems). 2) Widener. Sad to say, but grads from there will have a tougher time, because of some arbitrary ratings. Tell him to think pro bono work, government jobs etc.

I think I'll just stay out of it altogether! (Agree about chango - he could very well turn out to be the second judge from the old fray - ha! can you imagine having chango as your judge?!!)

rundeep said...

Very few people enter the judiciary after being entertainment lawyers, but it's not impossible.

topazz said...

I didn't realize he was going into entertainment law. While I understand the appeal - he does live in LA after all - but the fact is, we could really use a few good judges with chango's intellect and humor.

Not to change the subject but am I the only one who is just a little creeped out by the rash of Service men and women posting YouTube videos asking Celebrities to "take them to the ball"?

WTF?

Isn't that like one step away from social blackmail??
