How sweet was the ending of The Office last night? How funny was Michael's face when Toby tells him he has a brother in Boulder? How disappointing has Will Ferrell been? (I blame the writers, I still love him) How hilarious was 30Rock? Especially Alec Baldwin's scenes with the nanny, while skyping with the wife. How insane is it that people find Tracy Morgan even remotely funny?

I'm back. The doctor thought i had meningitis. I wish it had been that simple.

My favorite office moments of last night were almost too long to list:
Michael & Shrute paintball, probably on top
Jim starting to cry when he says not-goodbye.
Michael not shitting on Phyllis when he gives her the teeth.
Michael laughing hysterically about the hideous voodoo doll.

I think everyone on the show was showing some genuine feeling about losing Steve.

I'd have liked Will Ferrell's scenes better if they made just a tiny bit more sense. He doesn't have a coherent character yet.

Welcome back, Iso.

I would appreciate your comments on Princess Beatrice's hat.

Princess Beatrice's hat is fantastic! It was designed to look like she was giving the royal finger (she's her mother's daughter)

i've made fun of the south. but they are very tough. but i can't... is it too much? good grief.

Isonomist said...

Cindy, I have no idea what anyone's hat looked like. Except for the thumbnails on yahoo. I'm no longer a fan of hats since my last trip to London. They all look like cheap Sunday bonnets to me.

Bea's hat -- a beribboned toilet seat.

rundeep said...

Iso, I wrote that before you posted that pic I swear!

Well, like I told you that night in Grant Park. You got your Kennedy.

Mission accomplished?

My daughter just called me from Penn State - she stood outside and held the phone up so I could hear all the singing, cheers and hollers going on - same thing in Times Square and outside the White House. It's a wierd feeling to be happy and cheering someone's death, isn't it?

Michael said...

I'm delighted he died violently. Doesn't feel weird to type that at all. No way that monster gets to die of old age Topazz.

Cindy said...

I agree topazz.... it's not that I'm unhappy that this has come to the end that it did. It's just that I can't really get behind "yay - human dead" as a mood motivator.

I'm weird that way.

I could never be President.

Knowing that all of this was "going down" as they say - now makes Obama's "things that would keep me up at night" comment to Donald Trump even funnier (at the Correspondent's Dinner) Good call.

David Marlow said...

can't wait to see how the right spins this. "obama just made us more in danger by killing... evil!"

me? well, will and kate leave in copter saturday morning. destination unknown. packing heat. osama greased sunday. will back at work tuesday. you do the math.

Cindy said...

LOL! Helicopters whooshing in to isolated mansion in Pakistan .... this picked up on an amateur ham radio:

"We WILL have this for our effing honeymoon you bastard!"

topazz said...

Kate and Wills are probably so thrilled that the focus is off them for a few hours that they're going at it like animals right now.

Cindy said...

It's okay to say smarmy about Trump. We won't tell.

David Marlow said...

funny how an uneducated(sp?) colored fella could be so presidential. good luck tea party douches. he's what made this country a bit better, not you. also, he has perfect comedic timing.

topazz said...

I loved that he brought up Trump's "decision" to axe Gary Busey and to keep Meat Loaf. Whenever Trump opens his tiny little mouth (anyone ever notice how tiny his mouth is?)about anything remotely presidential, they oughta play that sound bite over and over again as rebuttal.

rundeep said...

The Socialist Pacifist Secret Muslim Plant killed Osama bin Laden. Imagine that. The sound you hear next is that of worldviews exploding....This is perhaps the only time in my life I have not even a drop of concern about killing someone. I hope I never have this sense again. But then humans do not have the best track record.

Fuck that. Footage this morning of hundreds of college kids on Boston Common hollering drunkenly that OBL went down. I don't imagine that they're all heading out to enlist.

The world's almost certainly better off without the monster (although I always like to defer to Gandalf on that score), but murders still had to be done to get here. Someone still had to do it, shooting through someone else evidently, which is enough to tamp down the celebration, as if all the butchery on the way wasn't. Hell, we don't even have the justification that it's over now. I don't feel any joy over it.

Sorry to get all preachy.

hated drunk chanting. this may sound stupid, but all this is the x-generation's fault.

David Marlow said...

is it just me or is the first lady kind of... perfect?

Cindy said...

Bright nails it. Again.

I hate being caught up in the tail end of the Boomers. Blech.

Cindy said...

She is. Does that make me gay?

David Marlow said...

time to start firebombing pakistan? "teach us your grace." happiness is good soil.

topazz said...

See Tom & Lorenzo about Shelley. They don't make them any gayer, and they're fabulous:

Fantastic!! Reads like Bravo in the old days.

And, I couldn't agree more about the color, the jewelery and her shoulders.

David Marlow said...

oh for god's sake, can we please get back to things that matter, namely, who got booted from "dances with a star"*?

"Glee", the Voice, and I discovered that the washer wasn't working properly at 11:45 when my daughter has a game tomorrow. A freaking wonderful night.

topazz said...

won't be the first time a kid goes into a game without an april-fresh jersey.

David Marlow said...

is it just me, or am i in big trouble? thought i could do this alone. met the folks finally at the end of the lane. he said take all the wood you need.

alcohol(sp?) is poison.

bright said...

No one does it alone. Even Fritz Gerlich posts on The Fray, my friend.

Keifus said...

Well, I watched the Voice last night. Since it was a blind sing-off, I was hoping for more mutants. So disappointed.

K (listen to bright. again.)

David Marlow said...

keif, yes i will give you beer.
bright, i don't what you mean.
run, alostar?
jimmy levine on fresh air.

Cindy said...

Love Jimmy Levine. I'm pretty sure that does make me gay! Yay!

Ditto K.

Your neighbor sounds nice. Perhaps one day you will be able to give him all the tomatoes he needs. Once you plant a yard full.
