I've sinned against my legacy. I need to get that back.
You people on my Internets.
You've never met me, but I think you know me as well as someone could be known in here. So I wanted to say that your kindness, compassion and support these last 6 months or so moves me to tears.
I can never pay y'all back, but I can guarantee you free copies of my (maybe) forthcoming memoir, Lost In Iowa: My Search For Redemption On The Northern Prairie. Only the paperback edition though.
Anyways, thanks for reading. I hope you can enjoy more here.

I hope you keep commenting, keep writing, keep posting, keep doing what you're doing.
I relate to so much of what you're saying as a mother ... but also I'm learning to love my own mother more by reading you.
So keep writing.
The Midwest is a better place with you in it.
Welcome Home.
That house, I'm digging. Something about a 3rd floor dormer window that calls for drapes blowing in the hot summer wind.
Now, as to our winters, ahem...
I'm picturing some nice black shutters. Every window opening, including the double windows in the kitchen. It needs black shutters.
omg Schmutzie, you're talking about curtains and shutters and that door is just hanging on by a thread. Dude. Focus.
A new piece of Z-bar framing, handful of 16 penny nails to fix the jamb, and that door is as good as new BV.
Tell me if the television aerial is outdated, or if it's retro chic. I can't tell anymore.
Good on you, switters.
I could definitely live in that house - a cat in every window, and a few more lazing about the lawn.
